France is full of local specialties; wines that are made only in one place, and that are often unfairly overlooked. We have scoured the four corners of France (well, perhaps three of them) to bring you a mixed case of dry, yet rich white wines. Some, like Jura’s Savagnin and Jurançon’s Petit Manseng are only found in their native regions; others, like Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Grenache Blanc and Roussanne are better known, but they are all great examples of their types. These are mainly food wines; they have the weight and character to complement rich French cuisine. Indeed, most of them come from regions as famous for their food as for their wine!
