On November 5th we're privileged to be welcoming Alessio Guidi of Montepulciano giants Avignonesi to our East Dulwich branch.
The beautiful Tuscan estate of Avignonesi is situated on the edge of Montepulciano near Cortona. Vino Nobile is their flagship wine and, while they are Sangiovese specialists, they now also have a diverse portfolio of wines made from both international varieties and obscure local rarities.
Since 2019 the estate has pioneered the use of organic and biodynamic viticulture seeking to preserve freshness and vitality in the wines at the same time as nurturing and preserving the soil for generations to come. What's more in 2021 Avignonesi became a 'Benefit Company' by amending its corporate object to include the aims of common benefit toward the environment and nature.
A fascinating organisation who are at the spearhead of innovation in the wine industry and, most importantly, make some blockbuster wines, 8 of which we'll be trying on the night alongside some small plates from our exciting new menu.
